Shrimp has always been seafood lovers’ favourite. This recipe with caramelized sugar gives this dish a sweet and spicy combo and is a tasty appetizer above all very easy to cook with less effort and preparation.
Ingredients
- Granulated Sugar –3 tablespoon
- Rice stick noodles/ Vermicelli -6oz.
- Salt as per taste
- Medium sized onion -1
- Vegetable oil- 2 tablespoon
- Broccoli florets – 1lb
- Chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
- Garlic – 3 cloves finely chopped
- Grounded pepper- 1/4 teaspoon
- Shrimp peeled with tails on- 1 Pound
- Lime- ½
Step 1
Put a pan on flame and add water to it and let it boil. When the water boils add vermicelli and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until it becomes tender. Transfer the vermicelli to a strainer and place it under cold water so that they do not stick.
Step 2
Again, in the same boiling water add broccoli. Cook the broccoli for 3 to 4 minutes until it gets tender and crisp. Drain it into a bowl and toss the broccoli with onion and salt as per taste.
Step 3
In another pan add 3 tablespoon water and 1/2 cup water. cook sugar and water on a medium flame until the sugar dissolves or till the mixture turns darker and little dense. To it add oil garlic and pepper to the sugar syrup.
Step 4
Now add shrimp to the mixture and cook it along with it for 2-3 minutes until shrimp turns opaque and appears cooked. Remove it from heat and stir in its black pepper.
Step 5
Divide the vermicelli and broccoli on the serving plates. Serve with shrimps and sauce on its top.
