Try a Different Flavour by Preparing Kung Pao Prawn

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams large raw prawns; fresh or frozen
  • Cornflour (1 Tablespoon)
  • Light Soy Sauce (2 Tablespoons)
  • Tomato Puree (1 Tablespoon)
  • Unsalted and Roasted Peanuts (85 grams)
  • Large Whole Dried Chillies (3 Pieces)
  • Finely Grated Ginger (1 Small)
  • Finely Chopped Garlic (2 Cloves)
  • Onions and Bell peppers

Steps for Cooking:

In the initial step, you must season the prawns with soy sauce and ground white pepper. Stir-fry the sauce with other ingredients and mix them in a bowl.

Roast the Ground Nuts or Cashew Nuts on a pan with a drizzle of oil. Set it aside once the nuts are crispy and obtain a golden colour.

After that, stir-fry the prawns in a low amount of oil for at least 2 minutes. Once the prawns gain a golden brown colour, remove the pan and set it aside.

Add the Dried Chillies, Gingers, Onions and Bell peppers to the pan. Add them gradually and Stir fry all for a few seconds. Toss the pan after adding the bell peppers.

Now, place the fried prawns back and toss them in the Kung Pao Sauce. After the sauce becomes thick and glossy, sprinkle the roasted nuts and spring onions on top.

You are now ready with a bowl of Kung Pao Prawn. As an Indo-Chinese food, you can savour it with a plate of Noodles or Fried Rice.
