- 1/2 teaspoon jaggery
To make fresh masala, you need
- Two dry red chilies
- One teaspoon of whole black peppercorns
- One teaspoon of cumin seeds
- One teaspoon of fennel seeds
- 1-star anise
- Two twig curry leaves
Method
- First, make a fresh masala to prepare the recipe.
- Heat a frying pan on medium-low flame. Then dry roast the red chilies, whole black peppercorns, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, star anise, and curry leaves.
- After 4-6 minutes, switch off the flame and let the mixture cool.
- Transfer it to a mixer jar and grind without water. Keep this and set it aside.
- Take a small bowl to mix tamarind paste and jaggery with a few drops of hot water.
