Give Your Taste Buds a Saucy Treat with Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp

Know about the Ingredients required:

  • Shrimp (or prawn, as per your liking and availability) – 1 pound, cleaned and deveined.

For the glaze:

  • soy sauce – ½ cup
  • Brown sugar – ¼ cup
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, minced.
  • Fresh ginger – 1 tsp, grated.
  • Sesame oil – 1 tsp.
  • Corn starch – 1 tbsp.
  • Water – 1 tbsp.

For garnishing:

  • Scallions – 4 thinly sliced.
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tsp.

Know the Preparation process:

Take a bowl, mix water, and corn starch in it, and keep it aside.

Take a smaller-sized saucepan. Put brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in it and mix. Now, slowly sweep in the cornstarch slurry into it and whisk.

For the next step heat, the mixture in medium flame until it comes to a slow boil. Allow the mixture to boil for few minutes so that it thickens a bit. Now remove it from the heat. Your homemade teriyaki sauce is ready.

Take out 3 tablespoons of the teriyaki sauce from it and reserve to use it for later purposes.

Add your shrimps to the remaining sauce in the pan. Stir properly so that every shrimp is coated with the sauce. Now, take out the shrimps and place them over the skewers.

The grill needs to be in high heat for the shrimps to get the desired texture. Turn the shrimps only once to get them done. The grilling must take 5 to 20 minutes at the most, depending on the shrimp sizes.

Once cooked, take them out and brush the remaining sauce over them to get that extra flavourful aroma.

Serve them hot with rice, steamed vegetable, or simply savor this seafood dish unmarried to any other.
