One Pan Spicy Okra Shrimp

Shrimp is such an ingredient which can be combined with any kind of vegetable or stuff to create a magical dish out of it provided there is always a ‘but’ associated with shrimp recipes, i.e. you need to arrange the shrimps from the best shrimp and prawn provider, only then you will be able to cast a spell of magic on others through your dish.

In this recipe give the seafood a great twist by adding okra and also you can make it healthier by including your favourite vegetables. With a touch of spices, this dish is an excellent delicacy to enjoy with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • Fresh okra cut into half lengthwise-1/2 pound
  • Sliced bell pepper-1 cup
  • Sliced onion -1 cup
  • Peeled, deveined shrimp- 11/4 pound
  • Fresh lemon juice -2 tablespoon
  • Green capsicum- 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter -1 tablespoon
  • Cooked basmati rice -3 cups
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoon
  • Black pepper-1/2 tablespoon
  • Salt-free Cajun seasoning or any seasoning of your choice -2 tablespoon
  • Chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley – 2 tablespoon

Step 1

In a small bowl mix Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Give it a good mix. Now heat a pan and to it add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and then add okra, bell pepper, capsicum, and onion to it. To it add the prepared above seasoning mixture and cook until the okra is lightly brownish and pepper and onion starts getting tender. Turn off the flame and transfer the stuff into a bowl.

Step 2

In the same pan add the remaining olive oil, heat it and add shrimps to it and toss it and then add the seasoning to it. Cook the shrimps till they are opaque i.e. for 4to 5 minutes. Always remember shrimps from the best shrimp and prawn provider cooks faster and tastes good.

Step 3

Add parsley, lemon juice to the cooked shrimps. Add butter to it and toss it until the butter melts. Serve them over rice.
